chugga chugga's breaking up and our last show is gonzalo's birthday party on april 7th at the aqueerium (1361 monroe st nw, dc). don't worry, we're still best friends and all that, but writing new songs is so frustrating and we've decided to see other people.

we're still going to play for plan it x summer camp in early july in bloomington but we're not going to write new songs and we're going to finaly stop making cds! yes! we have about 50 left and if you want one, you should write to us and give us a dollar or two or a trade. our address is still

8603 cedar street
silver spring, md
20910

we're still in the process of making 7" covers and i don't know exactly when we'll have those but maybe we'll throw a party and then not play or something cause that's what broken up bands do, right?

uh we also have free buttons!

peace out!

i guess its posi-ble that you haven't heard about the most happenin party of the whole year so we're going to tell you about it.

first of all, it is called Positive Youth Fest but it's all ages and you don't have to smile to get in. you don't have to do anything really except go in cause it's all free. secondly, there are workshops, games, 16 local bands, a dance party i think, lots of tables and food but not really in that order. third, it will all go down at the Kay Spiritual Center at American University, at 4400 massachusettes ave, accessible from the tenleytown metro on the redline and then you can pretend y ou're a student and take the free shuttle right to the main quad area where the building is. henceforth, chugga chugga will be playing on the first day, friday, december the 30th. but both days are going to be sweet i promise. additionally, for further info, go to positivechangedc.net/pyf or myspace.com/pyf. see you there, kids!

maybe you were planning on going to jesse's house on monday, but you'll just have to wait an extra 24 hours because the fall-themed vegan potluck and acoustic show will be on tuesday, november the 8th at 7pm. Jesse's going to play some tunes, as is Chugga Chugga, The Giving Machine and one other person from washington state, and Staccato, the house band. so this is all happening at the Lamont Street Collective (1822 Lamont Street, nw). the best way to get there is with a bike, or by taking the S2 or S4 down 16th street to lamont, or you can get off the metro at columbia heights but i think it's a bit of a walk and i don't know how to give directions from there. i don't to make it sound confusing cause it's easy to get there i swear, so come!

OKAY!

chugga chugga will be playing at the lamont street collective (1822 Lamont Street) on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 8TH. all the flyers say monday the 7th but that is a mistake. also playing will be THE GIVING MACHINE, NATE ASHLEY, STACCOTO, and JESSE HINSON ASTIGMATISM. it's a potluck and there are 2 touring bands so dig deep into your fridge/piggy bank! i mean not that deep, jeeze.

also for those of you that have orded cds lately i swear they are coming! computer time is running out! bye!

also before i forget again, the Gadabout travelling film festival from New Paltz, NJ is coming to the Warehouse Next Door (7th and M, nw dc, across the street from the mt. vernon stop on the metro) on Tuesday October 11th. i really like film festivals. carni and i went to the animation part of the underground film festival last weekend and i had a lot of fun! but anyway guess who else is going to be there on tuesday. our friend Christian from the international top 10 megahit sensation Mass Movement of the Moth! also Chugga Chugga will be playing and like always, there's someone else but i can't remember their name. ok so the show starts at about 8 or something and we hope to see you there<3

our friend natalie makes up the best games and one time she made up one called The Did You Know Game. you say "did you know" and then a fact and if the other person already knows it, you have to say another fact until you say one that they don't know and then they have to tell you one.

did you know there's a band now called Kiss Me Deadly!?!??!?! according to insound, they play "intoxicating pop songs that blend the anthemic power of indie rock with dance music."
hmm i wonder where they got their name from!
(now it's your turn!)

you can play this game through the mail, while in line at a glam rock show, with strangers, on the phone, on the porch, underwater, upside down inverted 360 fakie!

worm talk! [01 Jul 2005|06:29pm]
so i guess we have some 'splainin to do. ya see, we and our housemate ben sit around some mornings and discuss worms over coffee. the meetings only last about 45 seconds because lets face it, worms are gross. then ben thought it would be cool to do electric chugga chugga and call it Worm Talk and that's exactly what we did! ben plays drums and our pal jesse plays bass and we've punked up some of our songs and wrote a Worm Talk theme song and you should come see us sometime if you're bored or lonely or looking for a good time or whatever. you might even learn a little something about those gosh darn creepy crawlers. we'll play around here for a while and then in august or september we're going on a 2 week tour with our best friends How We Tie Knots. we don't have anything set up yet but we'll be sure to let you know when we do.

so have a nice summer!<3<3

so this is kind of funny. friday, july 1st chugga chugga is playing a show at our house (8603 cedar st) but we will be accompanied by drums and electricity and maybe a bass? and also called worm talk! it's pretty excited and totally goofy. we're gonna play chugga chugga songs and maybe if we get around to it write new ones.

also have you guys heard about this band called monsters of muckabruck? i heard they stole an ambulance to go on tour.

well we don't have much news yet, but we do have a couple shows coming up to mention.

this saturday, the 14th, we'll playing with Piedmonster, How We Tie Knots and Polar at Kay Basement at American University. the show will benefit the new eating disorder clinic in dc and will start at like 8.

also during the day on saturday is the really free market in mt pleasant! i'm not exactly sure where it is, but you should find out cause there's going to be lots of free good things and a kids table and probably food and an open mic all from 10a-3p.

ok so then on july 17th we're playing at the trumbullplex in detroit! you won't believe who else is playing this one either. alright. get this. The Gibbons and Karate for Kids will be playing, along with some other out of town bands i've never heard before but everyone says they're really awesome and i can't remember their names but it'll be great i swear! and Patsy Motherfuckin Cline might even be there! whoa!!!!

and if anyone lives in silver spring or takoma park in maryland or if anyone in the dc area has a little free time or some food to donate, we started food not bombs here at the penguin mural at the silver spring metro station on tuesdays around noon. email us if you want to help out! we've only done it twice and we made peanut butter sandwiches and it's gone pretty well but we want this to get huge so give us a hand if you want to!<3
